Spoiler for Euphoria season 1
The first season of Euphoria led Rue Bennett (Zendaya) on a journey as she navigated her drug addictions and a newfound friendship and romance with the new girl in town Jules Vaughn (Hunter Schafer).
In addition to her own mental health issues, Rue came to Jules’ aid as she was caught up in the mind games involving secretive property developer Cal Jacobs (Eric Dane) and his repressed son and popular boy Nate Jacobs (Jacob Elordi).
Meanwhile, classmate Kat Hernandez (Barbie Ferreira) explored her sexuality and newfound body confidence through online prostitution, as her friend Cassie (Sydney Sweeney) tries to maintain a relationship with an older man.
Euphoria season 1: What happened to Rue?
Rue is in the hospital after bladder issues as a result of retaining her urine due to a bipolar episode. Jules returns from her time away with friends, including a love interest named Anna. Jules missed her a lot, and the pair reconcile before getting ready to go the dance.
Jules does Rue’s make-up and dresses her up in a dress – which makes Rue uncomfortable. At the dance, Jules texts Anna before Rue realizes and confronts her and Jules admits she wants Rue to be more passionate.
Rue asks Jules if she loves Anna, and Jules says yes, but also says she loves Rue too. She was in a love triangle and couldn’t pick one over the other.
